I’m furious on your behalf. What a manipulative guy your neighbor is. Also thoughtless. And I know there are plenty of adults (& parents) who will say they’re just “kids” having fun, but fun can be had without all of that. It’s wrong to treat neighbors that way. Sorry you’re dealing with that.

Thank you, Michelle.

36,000 is too many for Fayetteville. Bust up the university and relocate the various departments around the state.

I was born in Fayetteville before moving as a toddler. I lived in Fayetteville again from 2008-2010. I LOVED it. Moved out of state and looked at houses in NWA when I moved back to the state and didn't recognize it. It had lost all of its charm for astronomical prices. We noped out of there and moved to LR, which is oddly peaceful by comparison despite what people think of it.

I keep wondering when the breaking point is. The UA’s growth at all costs model is souring relations with the town, clogging our streets, ruining our neighborhoods, and leading to the construction of monstrous luxury 4-bedroom apartment buildings that at some point will be empty and rotting if the demographic predictions for college attendance come to pass. Not to mention the tax burden! Why are Arkansas taxpayers subsidizing the education of Texans en masse? I was joking with friends that for Halloween I was gonna go as a small luxury SUV with Texas plates, a Razorback emblem, and Greek letters on my back. They all got it.

Yes. We are paying for this in more ways than one. As a nurse, when I went for my nursing degree, half the nursing students were from Texas. They’re not going to stay here. They’re going to take their skills back to Texas and we’ll be stuck here with a nursing shortage that it seems we could fix ourselves if we would prioritize Arkansas residents.

Wow. That sounds beyond annoying. Sorry. I graduated UofA in '97. I loved the campus/Fayetteville. I had no idea it had grown/changed like that.
